Choosing mounting and bonding tape
Compare the two surfaces, bond area, adhesive system, carrier or transfer construction, thickness, and environmental exposure.
- Identify both materials being bonded.
- Decide whether conformability or a thin bond line matters more.
- Test the complete assembly before production use.
What is the difference between transfer and double-coated tape?
Transfer tape applies an adhesive film without a separate carrier. Double-coated tape has adhesive on both sides of a carrier or foam.
Do I need a dispenser?
Some adhesive-transfer formats are designed for compatible ATG dispensers. Check the product and dispenser specifications.
