KPT-1 is a gold/amber, transparent polyimide film tape with a high-performance silicone adhesive. Thin and conformable, it is designed for wave solder and hot air leveling applications, including protecting gold contacts from molten solder during processing. The transparent film allows observation of the board while masked.
- High-temperature performance: temperature resistance of 200°C (392°F), with excellent tear and abrasion resistance at elevated temperatures.
- Thin, flexible construction: 1 mil polyimide film and 2.6 mil total tape thickness for precise masking.
- Silicone adhesive: provides adhesion during processing and leaves minimal residue after removal to help reduce cleanup.
- Chemical resistance: resists acids, oils, solvents, aging, staining and water immersion.
- Consistent roll format: 36 yards (33 m) per roll on a 3-inch plastic core.
